Athletic Conference History
Lima Senior joined a new 10-school conference called the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) starting with the 2011-12 school year. The members of the new conference include: Findlay, Fremont Ross, Lima Senior, Oregon Clay, Toledo Central Catholic, Toledo Notre Dame, Toledo St. Francis, Toledo St. Johns, Toledo St. Ursula, and Toledo Whitmer. . Before TRAC Lima Senior was formed in 1955 when the Board of Education consolidated Lima South and Lima Central High Schools. Originally the building was built at 600 South Pierce Street, centrally located between South and Central. In 2004, the new Lima Senior opened on the banks of the Ottawa River at what was known as the Lima Stadium site. Many improvements have occurred to the athletic facilities since the opening of the new Lima Senior High School-artificial turf at the Lima Stadium (National Register of Historic Places), the building of Varsity Baseball and Varsity Softball diamonds complete with lights, in-ground sprinkler systems, brick dugouts to match the High School building and plenty of seating. As a result of these facilities, Lima Senior has all athletic facilities on campus except Cross Country, Tennis and Swimming within the city limits. Lima Senior has participated in the following conferences since 1955-the Greater Ohio Conference, the Greater Miami Conference, and the Greater Buckeye Conference. Additionally Lima Senior was an independent in the early 80s and 2000 – 2003. Lima Senior has captured State Championships in Baseball (1964) and Football (1996) while being state runner-up in Baseball (1960, 1961 and 1963) and Boys Basketball (1992).
