Our SchoolsThe 2009-2010 State Report Cards were released Aug. 27, 2010, and there are many reasons to celebrate in the Lima City Schools.
The District maintains its rating of Continuous Improvement for the second consecutive year! Additionally, the district met Value Added Growth. This means that, on average, students in the Lima City Schools gained a year's growth. A composite reading and mathematics score is used for Value-Added Growth.
Heritage and Independence Elementary Schools both maintain their Excellent ratings. This the third year for Heritage to achieve an Excellent rating and the second for Independence. Both schools also met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)!. Meeting AYP means reading and mathematics growth standards were met for all of the students, all subgroups, in their schools.
Overall, eight of the 11 schools in the LCSD have ratings of Excellent or Continuous Improvement:
Heritage and Met AYP
Independence and Met AYP
Lima Senior High Performance Based School
Lima Senior High Progressive Academy
Lima Senior High School of Multiple Intelligences
District-wide 27 or 63% of the student subgroups met AYP in reading and 30 or 70% of the student subgroups met AYP in mathematics.
Three schools increased their Performance Index (PI) Score over last year:
Lima North Middle School/+1.3
Lima West Middle School/+4.9
Lima Senior High Progressive Academy/+3.1
We are proud of our students and staff for these ratings and we are working each day to improve!
