Welcome to Freedom Elementary School.
I am so proud of our dedicated and experienced staff. Teachers have many professional development opportunities that benefit student achievement, including learning new strategies for teaching math and how to incorporate small group and work stations into their classrooms.
Every student at Freedom is able to go to the computer lab every day. This prepares them for 21st Century skills they need to be successful. We are purchasing Smart Boards with the goal of having one in every classroom.
We have many programs to help students achieve success. They include several tutoring programs that bring community volunteers and high school students to Freedom to read and work one-on-one with students. The friendships formed are invaluable. The Girls Scouts also come once a week.
Students are also exposed to programs like DARE and radKIDS to teach them about making good and safe choices. Fourth-graders can get involved in orchestra.
Freedom partners with West Ohio Food Bank and sends home over 100 bags of food each Friday to assist families.
Building relationships with parents is important to us. We host family nights several times a year for parents to participate in learning activities with their children.
I’m thrilled to be the principal of Freedom. I have served the families of this community my entire career. I started as a first-grade teacher at Washington McKinley 19 years ago and I hope to spend the rest of my years in education at this school.
