She started also working at West Middle School in the 2019-20 school year. K9 Rosie is an energetic Black Labrador, who started with the Lima City Schools in 2018. She was born in Michigan and graduated from Von der haus Gill Police K-9 Academy in 2018.

After months of thorough training, including criminal investigations, patrol procedures, self-defense, first aid and report writing, Officer Kennedy was given the opportunity to serve and protect the Lima City Schools. She is the SRO at Freedom Elementary and says she is blessed to be a protector of the children of Lima and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

She joined the Lima Police Department as a cadet in 1980, becoming a police aid and then officer in 1985. She was promoted to sergeant in 1998 and retired in 2018. When she is not working, she enjoys camping and auto racing. K9 Emmy is a black lab. She is trained in Narcotics and Firearms Detection. She is a graduate of the Von der haus Gill Police K-9 Academy. Emmy loves spending time with the students.

She has 17 years of law enforcement work, 14 of those with the St. Rita’s Medical Center Police Department. She graduated from Rhodes State College Police Academy and enjoys boxing in her spare time. Officer Leugers is a recipient of the Allen County Children Service friends of children award. She and Scarlet received the Lima Allen County Safe Community School Safety award in 2019. K9 Scarlet is a Black Lab that has been in the schools since the district started the K9 program in 2018. She is a graduate of the Von der haus Gill Police K-9 Academy. She loves to come to school and on days off, sits at the door barking to leave.

His career began in 1982 when he spent six years in the United States Air Force Security Police stationed in Wyoming and the United Kingdom. He next spent five years working as a part-time police officer in several departments in Allen and Putnam counties. In 1993, he started his 23-year career with the Lima Police Department. His work there included being a K9 handler. He was an officer with the Wapakoneta Police Department the two years prior to coming to the Lima City Schools. K9 General is a 4-year-old Newfoundland/Golden Retriever mix. He is a State of Ohio Certified K9 in narcotic/firearm tracking. General came to the Lima City Schools with Officer Dunham when he started in 2018. He is in the breeding program for future service dogs for children and adults.

Principal Chad Fallis Staff List Campus Wear School Supplies Library Resources South Enrichment Achievement Test School Resource Officer Director of Safety and Security Nate Garlock K9 Eddie Officer Garlock was the district’s first School Resource Officer, starting in 2015. He became Director of Safety and Security in 2018 but remains the School Resource Officer at South. After high school, he spent four years in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the Rhodes State Police Academy and went to work at the Delphos Police Department. In 2010, Officer Garlock joined the Lima Police Department as a patrolman and member of the SWAT Team. He remained there until coming to the school district. He received the Lima Allen County Safe Community School Safety Award in 2017. K9 Eddie is the newest member of our K9 team. The 1-year-old German Short-Haired Pointer will soon be headed to the Von der haus Gill Police K-9 Academy, where he will be trained in explosive detection and tracking.

  • Culinary and Food Service Management | Lima City Schools

    CULINARY AND FOOD SERVICE Management Culinary and Food Service Management offers students the opportunity to learn fundamentals of the food industry. The goal of the program is to prepare students to secure and succeed in entry level, technical and skilled jobs. Students practice positve relationship skills, including communicating with customers and fellow students, by working in hands-on environments and participating in co-operative work experiences. The program features an on-campus restaurant, the Spartan Inn. It is operated by the culinary students, giving them real-work experience preparing, presenting, selling and serving a variety of food. The Spartan Inn is open to the public. Students develop skills in hospitality, sanitation and safety, menu development, customers relations, food preparation, global cuisine, catering, marketing banquet set-up, dining and hospitality software and First Aid/CPR training. Students are able to obtain ProStart and ServSafe certifications and compete in FCCLA competitions. College credit is available.

  • Adult Education | Lima City Schools

    ADULT Education Adult Education offers GED/HSE preparation and various workforce development programs through the Aspire Program. You do not need to be a resident of the Lima City School District to participate. Aspire Program Aspire offers free classes for adults, including those who have a diploma. Our program offers GED preparation classes in reading, math, science and social studies, as well as refresher courses. We also offer assistance in finding your career path. If you are thinking about going back to college, and it has been a while since you have been in school, the Aspire program can be a good way to brush up your skills. For more information, contact Laura Ball at 419-996-3082. GED/HSE Aspire conducts the GED program. The GED tests include language arts, social studies, science and mathematics. The tests are designed to measure knowledge and skills acquired through four years of high school. The questions in each of these tests require you to use general knowledge and critical thinking skills. The following are GED Requirements: State of Ohio resident Not currently enrolled in school Have not received a high school diploma GED preparation classes are held at flexible times in multiple locations, please contact Laura Ball at 419-996-3082 for current options. Orientations are offered twice a month from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. An orientation is required to help assess skill levels and begin your journey through the program.   • BRIM Anti-Bullying App | Lima City Schools

    BRIM Anti-Bullying App The BRIM Anti-Bullying App allows students and parents to anonymously report bullying incidents immediately. Students can report through the school web site, from their personal cell phones and from desktop computers in their schools. Every computer has easy access to the app. The app can be downloaded at the App store. Students can type in what they experienced or saw and can also attach a screen shot in cases of cyberbullying. Designated staff at each school will receieve the report and invesitgate. The report remains anonymous. Report Bullying
