School Highlights

  • K-8 Building

  • Vocal/instrumental music, art, drama and dance all integrated into curriculum

  • Multiple performance groups, including Touring Company and Show Choir

  • Educational field trips, including Bluffton University’s Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center, Ohio Caverns, Mazza Museum in Findlay and State House

  • Builders Club in partnership with Lima Kiwanis Club, promotes community service

  • Kids Hope mentors work with students

  • Youth sports available: Basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, track and field, volleyball and wrestling

  • Seventh and eighth-graders participate in Toledo City Athletic League. Football, cheerleading, soccer, volleyball, basketball, bowling, wrestling, swim, baseball, softball and track and field, baseball.

K9 Emmy

Officer Strickler joined the Lima City Schools and started working at Liberty Arts Magnet during the 2019-20 school year.

She joined the Lima Police Department as a cadet in 1980, becoming a police aid and then officer in 1985. She was promoted to sergeant in 1998 and retired in 2018. When she is not working, she enjoys camping and auto racing.

K9 Emmy is a black lab. She is trained in Narcotics and Firearms Detection. She is a graduate of the Von der haus Gill Police K-9 Academy. Emmy loves spending time with the students.
