Message from Superintendent
As we begin the 2026–27 school year, I remain filled with high optimism and gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Lima City Schools community. The start of a new school year represents more than a return to classrooms and routines — it is a chance to embrace new possibilities, strengthen relationships, and recommit ourselves to providing every student with the opportunities and resources they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Throughout the past year, we have focused on building a culture grounded in high expectations, continuous improvement, and meaningful opportunities for every student. Equally important, I’ve made a blatant effort to cultivate authentic relationships with our students, staff, families, community partners and local organizations. By listening, collaborating, and maintaining an active presence throughout our schools and community, I have become more deeply connected to the people and perspectives that make the city of Lima and Lima City Schools strong.
This year, our focus remains clear: creating learning environments where every student feels safe, challenged, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential. Our students deserve nothing less. The work of transforming outcomes and elevating expectations has NEVER been easy — it requires perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to believe we can achieve greater. Meaningful progress often comes with difficult conversations and ambitious goals, but those challenges are what drive lasting improvement. As we continue this journey together and build upon our successes, I am confident that the excitement of learning, the pride in achievement, and the belief in what is possible will grow in every classroom.
We also recognize that education extends beyond academics. Whether a student excels in the classroom, performs on stage, competes on the athletic field, participates in career-technical education, or contributes through service and leadership opportunities, each experience helps prepare them for success long after graduation.
At Lima City Schools, we remain committed to innovation while honoring the traditions that make our district special. We will continue investing in instructional excellence, strengthening partnerships with local organizations and businesses, and creating pathways that prepare students for college, careers, military service, and life. Our goal is not simply to help students earn diplomas but to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
Family engagement continues to be one of the strongest predictors of student success. I encourage parents and guardians to stay connected with their child’s school, communicate regularly with teachers, attend events, and celebrate both big accomplishments and everyday progress. When schools and families work together, students benefit from a united network of encouragement and support.
To our students, know that this district believes in you. Your ideas matter, your talents are valued, and your future is bright. I encourage you to approach this year with curiosity, determination, and the courage to step outside your comfort zone. Challenge yourself academically, get involved in extracurricular activities, support your classmates, and take pride in representing your school and community. Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new and become the best version of yourself.
