School Resource Officer Marissa Kennedy

Marissa Kennedy

Officer Kennedy attended Edison State Community College, where she obtained her OPOTA certification and an Associates of Applied Science in Criminal Justice in 2019. She was sworn in as a Lima Police Officer in November of 2020.  

After months of thorough training, including  criminal investigations, patrol procedures, self-defense, first aid and report writing, Officer Kennedy was given the opportunity to serve and protect the Lima City Schools. She is the SRO at Freedom Elementary and says she is blessed to be a protector of the children of Lima and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

K9 Rosie

Officer Keith graduated from Rhodes State College Police Academy in 2015 and earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She began her training with the Lima Police Department in 2016 and started as a School Resource Officer at Unity Elementary School the 2016-17 school year. She started also working at West Middle School in the 2019-20 school year.

K9 Rosie is an energetic Black Labrador, who started with the Lima City Schools in 2018. She was born in Michigan and graduated from Von der haus Gill Police K-9 Academy in 2018.
