Athletic Hall of Fame accepting nominations

The Lima City Schools Athletic Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for next year’s induction class.

The Hall of Fame honors teams, athletes, coaches and contributors from Lima Senior, Central High School and South High School. Below is the criteria for nomination:

Athlete: An athlete may be eligible for nomination into the Hall of Fame four years following graduation from the Lima City Schools.

Team: A team may be eligible for nomination after four years.

Coach: A coach may be eligible for nomination after four years of no longer coaching for the Lima City Schools.

Sports Contributor: A sports contributor is eligible as an individual or group who has helped to develop and foster the growth of athletics in the Lima City Schools athletic community.

Legacy: A legacy award is eligible for nomination as a family through at least two generations or multiple siblings who have achieved significant athletic accomplishments during their time at the Lima City Schools.  

The deadline for nominations is Sept 24. Nomination forms are available in the Lima Senior Athletic Office.

Inductees will be announced in mid-October. They will be honored at the Feb. 6 Lima Senior home basketball game and again during a dinner and program Feb. 7. Ticket information about the dinner will be available when inductees are announced this fall.
