Five-hundred students from across the Lima City Schools will soon share the stage to present a concert to celebrate America 250, the nation's 250th anniversary.

All City Choir: America 250 will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center in downtown Lima.

The concert will feature choir students in grades kindergarten through 12th, with every grade and building being represented. This is a first for so many LCS students from across buildings and grades to be on stage together.

All students will come together to sing two opening songs and one finale number. Lima Senior’s Scarlet & Gray show choir will be joined by Heritage Harmonics as well as students from Liberty Arts Magnet and South Science and Technology Magnet for a set. Lima Senior Spartanaires will also be featured.

Patriotic songs including God Bless America, America the Beautiful, and My Country 'tis of Thee will be part of the program. Veterans and active duty service members will be recognized as students sing the Armed Forces Salute.

While these is no admission charge for the concert, people do need to get a ticket ahead of time. Tickets were made available to district staff and families earlier this week. They will be available to the public at noon Monday, March 23.

Tickets can be reserved here.

The concert is underwritten by Cenovus Energy.
